started in a recession OR wildly increased business in a
economic downturn
1. Federal Express..Started in the 1970′s recession
Their USP (Unique Selling Position) ?
When it Actually has to be there overnight
Witty, irreverant, and …Creative…
It leaned on humor to build its brand in tough times.
Most companies get ALL serious- most of the Internet Marketing
messaging have become MORE serious. The few that have stayed light and fun ( ie Frank Kern and Mass Control) have THRIVED.
2. Movie Theaters THRIVED in the Great Depression.
3. Radio ..TOOK OFF..radio advertising DOUBLED
4. The 1970′s..Recession…Microsoft started..look at them now.
5. People Magazine- the worlds number one magazine in ad sales and revenue – started in the 1970′s recession
6. TOYOTA..Continued to Advertise during the 80′s recession.
They came out of the recession with HUGE momentum
IN a recession the advertising becomes quieter..it is EASIER to stand out, claim market share, and have momentum when it ends.
So STAND out
Claim Market Share.
And you will be FAR ahead of ANY of your competitors.
